Bodywork Rebirthing/Conscious Breathing First of all, while some parts of the session may contain massage, this is not meant as a massage, but a Conscious Breath session intended to awaken mind, body, and spirit.
Rebirthing is intended
to be accomplished over a series of sessions, which will include:
Introduction
to Conscious Breathing/ReBirthing Each session will be approximately 2 hours in length, with content changing based on prior sessions. Each session stands on its own. This means that within one session you will have all you need to begin the awakening process. Of course, taking additional sessions will enhance the experience. Each session will have in common the 3 Keys to build up and to discharge energy:
1 - Deep
Breathing
2 - Movement
3 - Sound ReBirthing is an experiential session with both the client and the masseur participating on a deeply intimate and personal level. Breathing, often synonymous with life itself, is actually a swap between you and the universe, a grand cosmic exchange of taking-in and releasing. Usually, it is so easy, we don't give it much thought. Its just an inhale and exhale. But it can be so much more powerful than that: With the use of Conscious Breathing, you can relieve stress, reduce anxiety clear the mind and recharge your energy. A Rebirthing session is very important as it allows for a rapid experiential experience. What might normally take place over years of training can be experienced in a 'short' space of time. However a Rebirthing session is very arduous and not many clients can undergo the full 'breathing' session required for rapid experiential learning. After many years of working with Conscious Breathing methods, I have found that breath work is best if done over a series of appointments that allow the client the full benefit of each session, WITHOUT pushing the client over the edge of endurance.
Conscious Breathing Breathing to most humans is something we rarely ever think about. It has always been there as part of our lives since the moment of birth, as has the beating of our hearts, or the blood coursing through our veins. Conscious Breathing is simply breathing with awareness. To actually slow, stop, accelerate, or otherwise change the pattern of breathing we take for granted. Once we assume control of our breath, amazing transformations can take place, in releasing past trauma, exploring aspects of Vision Questing, or experimenting in Altered States of Consciousness. The original term for this type of working was "Rebirthing". It was believed that a person could go back in time to the moment of their births, re-live the experience and re-write any trauma that might have come from the birth. But that name was a misnomer as only about 20% of the people who underwent "Rebirthing" actually re-experienced their birth. A sample to try A few years ago, I met a man who said he was a shaman from Bali. He introduced me to a very simple way of breathing consciously and I would like to share that method with you. To be performed twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. This type of Conscious Breathing will slowly begin to transform you in many different ways:
to infuse energy
into your being To begin, Inhale deeply Then exhale, releasing the entire breath Count to 5 Inhale through the nose only to the count of 10, start with the base of the lungs and work your way up to the throat as you inhale. Visualize light filling you. aligning the chakras with the body in harmony and balance. Hold breath for a count of 5 Exhale through the nose only to the count of 10, starting with the upper part of the lungs first then slowly release air from the lower part of lungs into the abdomen. Imagine dust or dirt (or whatever image you can visualize) coming out of you as all the poisons in your body are being released. Hold on the exhale for a count of 5 Inhale and continue with the above pattern until you have done 10 complete breaths. I find I can get 'lost' during the 10 complete breaths. I sometimes drift in my concentration with this type of breathing as the Balinese Breathing makes me very relaxed. After about 4 or 5 complete inhale/hold, exhale/hold breaths, I usually lapse into a brief but deep sleep, only to awaken a few moments later not knowing which breath I just completed.
So I learned a quick
trick by grabbing one finger on every inhale to remind me where I am during the
10 complete breaths. In this way, even if I lapse for a moment, I always know
which breath I am on. Cost and Length of a Conscious Breathing session 2 Hours - $140. Most sessions will include at least one of the following: Introduction
to Conscious Breathing Due to the intensity of this type of working, be sure to block off an extra 15 - 30 minutes of your time to allow for setup and relaxation at the end of the session. |
